49. Emily West
Contemporary Jewellery
Emily West is a Bendigo-based silversmith and artist who has worked professionally in silver for over 14 years.
An Honours graduate with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Ceramics), her practice is informed by a deep appreciation for form, texture, and craftsmanship. Working primarily in sterling silver and gold, Emily creates sculptural jewellery inspired by organic forms, natural textures, and the imperfect beauty of handmade objects.
Her work combines traditional silversmithing techniques with wax carving, sand casting, and recycled gemstones reclaimed from heirloom jewellery. Each piece is individually handcrafted in her studio at Bendigo Pottery, where she explores themes of transformation, renewal, and connection. Through her jewellery, Emily creates contemporary heirlooms that celebrate craftsmanship, sustainability, and personal stories.
