20. Sarah Hansford

Sarah is a Bendigo based, self taught figurative artist. Sarah dropped out of art school in the early 2000s and didn't start making art again for 18 years, when Jane Ineson's Life Drawing group started up close by.

Sarah was a regular artist with the group before moving on to the Go Figure Life Drawing group. Working primarily in charcoals, graphite, pastels and watercolour on cartridge, kraft and watercolour paper,

Sarah uses these materials to express feeling and movement which is the driving force behind the work. Sarah's work has often been described as strong and deliberate as is evident through the use of the darkest charcoals and heavily granulating watercolours.
